A frontline Gubernatorial Aspirant and leader of the Biggthings Coming, Hon. Sunday Bigg has said that he was becoming emotional about the movement taking into cognizance the magnitude of support coming in for the project.

Biggs made this statement at the NUT Hall Mangu on Friday after receiving Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms bought for him by the Plateau Unity Forum for Sunday Biggs (PUFFSB).

While presenting the form, the leader of the support group, Arch. Mancha Jonathan said the decision of the group was hinged on its realization of general acceptability of Biggs' aspiration across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state. He said that the realization was made possible for the fact that membership of the group cuts across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.

Addressing a vast array of supporters after receiving the forms, Biggs' said, "I had cause to tell someone that this movement now is beyond me.

"Hitherto, I thought I was in control but now, I have realized that it is God that is in control. Sincerely speaking, I am becoming very emotional about this because of the love people have shown to me which I believe I don't deserve.

"In the cause of this movement, people have given us gifts but the greatest of all the gifts is the mass support that we have.

"Therefore, I strongly believe that it's God that has led you into this movement and I also believe that He will continue to sustain us.

"It's not possible to have bought everyone here with money neither is it possible for me to have  convinced you by my wisdom.

"And with God on our side, we will continue to match together until we attain and achieve victory. By the grace of God, we will climb the mountain descend to the promised land together".

The Gubernatorial Aspirant posited that the people of Mangu have one agenda, which is to produced the next governor of Plateau. Consequently, he urged them to be circumspect in selecting an aspirant that is credible and acceptable to the people of Plateau. He warned that the people of Mangu risked loosing the governoship if the above factors are neglected in the selection process. "Our main agenda in Mangu is to produce the next governor. This means that we need to present who can win the governoship.

"But how do we achieve this? Is it just any aspirant that can achieve this on our behalf? Definately there are things we need to do to get to the promised land.

"The most important is to present a credible and acceptable candidate to the people of Plateau State.

"Credibility and acceptability are key in the selection process. The people of Plateau are watching. It's not just having the name of a person on the Ballot paper.

"I have told those who cared to listen that in 1979, we had someone from Mangu on the ballot who contested that election but we lost.

"In 1992/93, we had another Mangu man on the ballot who contested that election but lost. The point I am making is that, it's not just enough to have a Mangu man on the ballot.

"He must be a person who has general acceptance of the people of Plateau. The question is; who can get that acceptability on our behalf?

"This therefore, calls for proper scrutiny of Aspirants because we need to know the kind of candidate  that we present from Mangu otherwise, we stand the risk of loosing out again in the next election.

"We must bear in mind that the election is not going to be fought and won in Mangu. For this reason, we need to present an Aspirant to Plateau State that is credible to choose as a candidate for the party.

"Therefore, it is the calibre of the person that Mangu will present that will equally determine the general acceptability of that person or not", Biggs' said.

He further stated he was well poised and we'll positioned to take over the mantle of leadership of the state. "We are within the age bracket people are yearning for.

"We also know what we suffered  during the Endsars, we know what we suffered during the Not Too Young to Run campaign and all these have culminated into laws in this country.

"Are we going to jettison these laws? It is time for us to take the mantle of leadership in Plateau so we can take charge of affairs of the state".

The event at the NUT Hall preceded the one that took place at the Mishkaham Palace which witnessed the attendance of all traditional rulers in Mangu Local Government Area. Biggs' had told the Royal fathers during the meeting that it was imperative of him as a son, to come to the palace and introduce to them those championing his campaign project so the Royal fathers can appreciate them. Speaking on behalf of the Royal fathers, His Royal Highness and Sum Pyam, Chief Charles Mato deeply appreciated the efforts of the support group and expressed delight in the aspiration of Biggs saying he was positive and confident that if given the mandate, Plateau would make an excellent Governor in him.
