The Federal High Court Jos Division on Thursday dismissed a suit of forgery allegation against Hon. Komsol Longaap Alphonsus, member- elect to represent shendam, Quan’pan and Mikang Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
Hon Joe Bukar, having defeated by Komsol during the primaries of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) last year filed a suit in the court in a pre-election matter alleging Hon. Komsol forged his First School Leaving Certificate which he said he obtained from RCC Primary School, Kalong in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.

However, in his judgement, Justice Dorcas Agishi dismissed the suit for lack of merit adding that the plaintiff failed to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt that indeed, the defendant forged the said document.
Agishi said that the plaintiff did not make effort to confirmed or find out from either the School, the defendant claimed to have attended or the Local Government Education Authority to established his case. According to the Judge, you begin to cut down a tree from the root and not from the braches.

Speaking to African Drum after Court session, Hon Komsol expressed delight over the judgement saying that the judiciary remains the last hope of the common man. “Today, the court has demonstrated that indeed, it is the last hope of the common man”. The member-elect said the issue between him and Joe Bukar was amazing and further expressed his dissatisfaction with the leadership of the party for its inability to nip the problem in the bud and allowed it to reach the Level it went. “I know the pressure and the power that be against me. This court issue with Joe Bukar is amazing because we have the party and its leaders. They ought to have called us before now, sit with us and find a way out without approaching the court because we must respect our party. The party is supreme, but as far as I am concerned, the leaders of our party have not demonstrated good leadership as far as this issues is concerned and for allowing members of the same family to go to court”. He however said he was not in any way holding any grudge against Joe Bukar saying they remained members of the same family. " I am not in any way angry with my opponent. I am extending a hand of friendship to him. We are in the same party and we will continue to work together," he said.
Komsol

Hon. Komsol called on his constituents to remain calm, law abiding and committed to the path of peace. He further appreciated them for the confidence reposed in him by given him the mandate to represent them in the green chambers of the National Assembly and promised to deliver on his campaign promises.
When African Drum contacted Joe Bukar on phone, he said he was not disposed to talking to us at the moment.
