Hon. Alphonsus Komsol

The Member representing Shendam, Mikang, Quaan'Pan Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Alphonsus Komsol Longap is said to be on the run as the Nigerian Police have launched a manhunt for the Lawmaker over alleged duping of a prominent businessman and politician from the south-East of Nigeria of the sum of N400million.

Recall that few days ago, the media was awashed with reports of allegations of involvement of the Hon. member in some illicit acts (including impersonation) resulting in the duping of scores of people monies amounting to hundreds of millions of naira.
The reports also alleged that Hon. Komsol succeeded in his dubious acts by claiming to be the brother of the President of the Court of Appeal and had convinced his victims he could assist them influence cases pending at the Federal Court of Appeal.

He was also reported to have taken advantage of the fact that he hails from the same Local Government with the Appeal Court President to make people believe he is related to her.
According to the reports, the scandal blew open when one of the victims found out after giving huge sums of money to him, that the Honourable Member had no access to the appeal court President and was only claiming to be related to her.

The report added that the victim, a top politician from the South Eastern part of the country said he was introduced to the member as the brother to the President of the Court of Appeal and was asked to pay N400 million to facilitate his case at the Appeal court.

The victim was quoted by the media to have said that initially, he  believed Komsol, stressing that as an Honourable member in the National Assembly, he wouldn't lie to him but that no sooner than later, he  discovered the truth after Hon. Komsol stopped picking his calls after collecting N400million from him.
The victim was further quoted to have said that it was after that, that he conducted his investigations and found out that Hon. Komsol was not acting on behalf of the Appeal court President but was preying on unsuspecting persons on his own.

African Drum investigation revealed that the essence of going public by the victim was to prompt the Hon. member towards refunding the said amount having made several efforts in the past to no avail.
The victim, according to our source was however, angered the more when Komsol equally took to the media to debunked the story describing it as the handiwork of his enemies.

Hon. Komsol

According to our source, it was Komsol's response in the media that prompted the victim to immediately launched a complain to the SIB of the Police Force who immediately swung into action by mapping out plans towards arresting the Hon. member.
However, Komsol was said to have gotten wind of the decision of security operatives and has since abandoned his residences in Abuja and in Jos and only appear in some selected areas for campaign for his re-election bid.

All efforts to have the response of Hon. Komsol proved abortive as he neither responded to our phone calls nor text messages on the issue.
