Presidency 2023: Lalong absent as Osinbajo meets Plateau delegates

In his nation-wide interface with stakeholders towards achieving his Presidential ambition, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday met with delegates of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), from Plateau State, promising to make Nigeria prosperous if he is eventually given the mandate to be the president of Nigeria.


Vice President Osibanjo was received at the Victoria Gowon Hall, Plateau State Government House Little Rayfield by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Tyoden and official of the APC in the state led by the Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature.


And unlike in the cases during the previous visits by other Presidential Aspirants, (including Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi), Governor Simon wasn't on hand to received the VP as African Drum learnt that the Governor was in Abuja for an emergency meeting.

Speaking with journalists, Osinbajo said he was in the state to canvas for support of the delegates stressing that he had healthy discussion with the delegates and were happy with the issues raised during the meeting.


"We had a very ruburst and useful interactive session with the delegates. We had the opportunity to discuss about the economy, security, healthcare, education and other wide range of issues of the country and how to provide solutions to the problems.


"All the delegates enjoyed the discussion and were very happy. It was a very healthy engagement, ' he added.


The VP had earlier met with the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Council of Chiefs and Emirs, HRH.  Da Jacob Gyang Buba.
