Just In: Plateau PDP Secretary, Emmanuel Tuan suspended indefinitely.

The Plateau Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Emmanuel Tuan has been suspended and his assistant, Hon. Felix Pienswag asked to take over in acting capacity.
His suspension was announced today after an expanded meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC), which is the highest decision making body of the party in the state, chaired by the state chairman, Hon. Amos Goyol Gombi at the state Secretariat of the party situated along Yakubu Gowon way, Jos.
Briefing newsmen after the SEC meeting, the leader of the party in the state and Governorship candidate in the 2019 election General Jeremiah Timbut Useni said that the secretary was suspended indefinitely for insubordination. “We had successful and fruitful deliberations. One of the decisions taking by the state executive committee is the suspension of the secretary of the party," said Useni.

Useni added that the meeting resolved that the principle of discipline must be entrenched in the party stressing that nobody was above the party and whoever that feels contrary must be sanction in line with laid down rules. 
General Useni further stated that the SEC set up a five-man committee to investigate the activities of the secretary and any other issue relating to his activity. He called on all party members to ensure that whatever they do should be geared towards the unity of the party. "United we stand, divided we fall" Useni said.

 He described the incident that happened at the state Secretariat of the party on Monday as unfortunate saying that members of the party should embrace the spirit of following due process in conducting their affairs. Useni said that whoever that is aggrieved should channel their grievance through the appropriate channels. He called on all party faithful to give the necessary support to the acting chairman in order to build the party. Useni further advised that the committee be given maximum cooperation to enable it complete its assignment within the time frame given it.

The Committee has Barrister Simon Jok as its chairman. Other members of the committee are; Hon. Aminu Jonathan, Hon. Hanatu Bugama, Hon. Pius Gimba and Hon. Saidu Musa. The committee has two weeks to submit its report. The enlarged PDP SEC meeting today witnessed a large turn-out
