Business activities in Kampani Zurak Community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State literally came to a standstill on Saturday as members of the community thronged in their hundreds to welcome Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of Solid Unit Nigeria Limited popularly known and called Dan China.

Adamu, who hitherto was standing trial at the Federal High court on a matter relating to illegal mining had his charges withdrawn by the Federal Government about three weeks ago and was subsequently discharged by the court. The implication of the development according to Adamu’s lawyer, Gyang Zi is that the allegation that the accused was involved in illegal mining was not true which also means that he is a free man.

Consequently Dan China over the weekend finally bowed to pressure from Kampani Zurak community, (the immediate host community where his company is engaged in mining activity) to pay them a visit.

African Drum reports that Adamu and his entourage’s first point of call was the palace of emir of Wase where he was received by the Emir himself, HRH, Dr. Sambo Haruna and other traditional rulers where the Emir applauded the positive contributions of Dan China geared towards the development of Wase and other communities. On his part, Dan China appreciated the traditional ruler for his fatherly support even during his travail adding that it was their prayers that made it possible for his victory and promised to support the traditional ruler in any way possible to enhance the development of Wase Local Government.

In Kampany Zurak, over 500 youths wearing specially designed T-shirts with Dan China engrossed picture and with inscription, “Yes Kawu” gathered about a kilometer to the main community to receive him. While some where riding on motor-bikes, others trekked on foot jubilating back to Kompani. As they approached the community, they were joined by the elderly people and children all chanting yes Kawu, yes kawu.

African Drum was later informed that some of the youths came all the way from Taraba and Gombe states. Addressing a mammoth crowd at the village square, Danchina gave thanks to God for his faithfulness.  He also thanked both the federal and Plateau state government for toeing the path of justice. He urged the gathering most especially the youth to eschew violence and insist on pursuing peaceful ventures.
"According to him, “peace is ultimate without which we cannot make progress. What peaceful resolution cannot give you, violence can’t either.
It is my candid submission therefore that we all must continue to pursue peaceful ventures. I have been an advocate of peace and I will continue to do so.

“If we are to move away from violence as a way of solving disputes, we must move together so we can help especially the young learn how to deal with conflict creatively and non violently and to prevent continued cycles of violence. we must seek to cultivate the habbit of promoting peace and tolerance and not to fuel hatred and suspicious.”

Dan China further called on those who are politicians to pursue their political ambitions irrespective of tribal or religious affiliations without rancor or acrimony. On religion conflicts, he said that those who claim to fight for God are ignorant of God’s characteristics. According to him, God is a God of love and he that loves does not destroy. He wondered why human beings created by God would decide to fight and killed on behalf of their creator. He urged all to continue to be ambassadors’ of peace and continue to preach peace where ever they found themselves.

All those that spoke to African Drum extol the virtues of Abdullahi Adamu, describing him as a man with a big heart who has touched and changed the lives of members of the community positively.

Mohammed Ciroma, the Chairman of Kompany Zurak Community gave heart-wrenching stories of how Dan China made strenuous effort to better the lives of members of the Community through scholarship to the less privileged and construction of basic amenities among others.
