Plateau State PDP campaign Flag- Off:

LGA

Prominent
second republic politicians, Ngo Sarah Dokotri and Hon. John Akson both took a
swipe on Governor Simon Bako Lalong over his alleged comment on Senator
Jeremiah Timbut Useni, the PDP Candidate in the March 2nd
Governorship Election.
Lalong
is said to have referred to Senator Useni as ‘a boy’ during his campaign flag-off at the
Rwang Pam memorial Stadium, Friday last week.
Commenting
on the issue, Ngo Sarah Dokotiri, described the statement as reckless and
uncoordinated adding that instead of Governor Lalong to address key issues
affecting the lives of the citizens in the state, had resorted to attacking elders
probably so as to divert attention. According to the former member of the House
of Representatives, since Lalong came on board, Plateau State has known no
peace. “All we know about this government is killings everyday. A large
percentage of the people of the state are in the IDP camps. Is this the government
you want to re-elect? People can no longer go to their farms; our homes have
been taken over by foreigners. Please warn the people not to sell their votes
and mortgage their future for peanuts” she said.
Also
speaking on the matter, Hon. John Akson, the former Chief whip of the Plateau
State House of Assembly 1979 to 1983, strongly advised the youths to guard
their utterances to the elderly. Akson said that old age was a privilege that many
could not witness due to their reckless and irresponsible interactions with the
elderly. He also condemned the utterances of the governor saying that it was
unfortunate that Lalong who in 2015 was going cap in hand begging Useni to
support him have suddenly forgotten that and decided to throw morality to the
wind and denigrate Useni who is old enough to be his father aside his exposure,
pedigree and the important positions he held and is still holding in the
society.
Akson
therefore, called on the younger generation to respect the elders because one
day, they too will be elders and would equally demand respect from the younger
ones because according to him, “respect begets respect”. The politician also
advised the elders to avoid taking hasty decisions that they might regret
later.
He
further condemned those politicians who are fond of changing political parties
often and often and he described them as political prostitutes.
He
however said that those that have left the PDP were free to return as the door
of the party was wide open for them to do so.
Also,
in their separate goodwill messages, Professor Shedrack Best, the former
Secretary to the Plateau State government, Hon. Caleb Mutfwang the former
executive chairman of Mangu Local Government Council and Barrister Danjuma
Rindams, a Stalwart of the PDP all promised to deliver Mangu Local Government
Area to the PDP.
