Senator
Jeremiah Timbut Useni, the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2nd
March Governorship election in Plateau state has promised to immediately
sworn-in those whose “mandate have been stolen” during the October 10, 2018

Addressing
a Mammoth Crowd in Mangu Stadium during the official flag-off of his campaign
on Tuesday, Useni described the current administration under the leadership of
Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong as in sensitive to plight of the people stressing
that it was for this reason that the Governor was fond of making reckless
statements and declaring his loyalty to individuals instead of the people that
gave him their mandate. “I will die for Plateau and for a person. As soon as I
take over, those whose mandates have been stolen during the Local Government
Election will be sworn-in immediately”. He said.

will never forget his works when he was the governor of the state.
The
Governorship candidate said that when given the mandate, he would tackle the
issues of insecurity, agriculture and health which he said were very key to
human existence. According to him, “there can be no development without peace
and security. As such, the cardinal policy of my administration is to make
peace a pillar of development.”
Senator
Useni further said that his administration would create the enabling
environment for the Plateau person to empower himself, take up challenge before
him and confronting his environment positively so that poverty is addressed,
illiteracy and unemployment are given frontal attacks through an enhanced
policy initiatives. To achieve the above, Useni said his government will be run
in such a manner that the people are carried along and are given the chance to
participate through available democratic institutions.
The
event which saw a large turnout included all the aspirants that contested the
primaries with Senator Useni last year, Senator Jonah David Jang, all PDP
members in the National and Plateau State House of Assembly among others.
There
were goodwill messages from Senator Jang, Hon. John Akson, Hon. Beni Lar, Hon.
Theophilus Dakas Shan, Prof. Shedrack Best, Barrister Danjuma Maina, Hon. Caleb
Mutfwang, Prof. Lombim, Ngo Sarah Dokotri and many others.
