The Plateau State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Anna Talatu Musa Izam has said that recent attacks in Plateau State has exposed a lot of women and children to series of dangers stressing that the ministry has record of abuses against them.

Speaking to African Drum today, the Hon. Commissioner said it was for the above reason that a committee was set up by the State Government to take data of every individual in camps to curb the menace and to also ensure proper distribution of materials and construction of convenience for the inmates.

On women participation in Politics, the commissioner said that women needed to brace-up adding that there was also the need to engage in robust enlightenment on political issues aimed at changing women’s perspective toward politics.

She further commended Governor Lalong for his commitment and engagement of women in his administration.

According to her, women have been instrumental to preaching peace consequently, their involvement in politics means expanding the instrument of peace.
