Breaking News: Suspected Killers of
General Alkali Appeared in Court Today.

persons suspected of killing General Idris Mohammed Alkali were arraigned before
justice Danjuma Longji of High Court 5 on 2 count charge bordering on criminal
conspiracy and culpable Homicide.
Prosecution
counsel, Emmanuel Ochoma moved the application for ex-parte and same was
granted by the court. There after, the charges were read out to the accused and
they all pleaded not guilty. The prosecution then asked for an adjournment to
enable them bring witnesses to prove the case and further requested that
the accused be remanded in prison custody.

Defence
counsel, Gyang Zi while answering questions from journalists after court session said that
they will file bail application immediately.
Recall
that the Plateau State Command of the Nigerian Police Force yesterday paraded
19 suspected killers of Gen. Idris Alkali (among them was a 35 years old woman).
Briefing
the press, the spokesman of the state Command, DSP Tyopev Mathias Terna said
that retired General left Abuja for Bauchi enroute Jos on the 3rd of
September this year and was reported missing on the 6th of September
as he did not arrive his destination adding that the case was reported at the
Anglo Jos, Police Division on 3rd September.
He
said that the tracking the General’s phones, vehicle and laptop led detectives
alongside the military to a pond in Dura-Du in Jos South Area of Plateau State
and that on the 29th of September, the car, driven by the missing
General was recovered in the pond.
According
to the Police, on the 17th of October, the Military handed over to
the state command 13 suspects arrested in connection with the case
for investigation and after painstaking interrogation, the command declared 8
suspects wanted on 21st October adding that so far, 6 out of the
eight have reported to the police while two were still at large. The police said
that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as possible
