The Plateau State Commissioner of Science and Technology, Hon. Dan Majang has lamented the way and manner Nigerians are fight and kill themselves over mundane issues while people in other climes are using their talents to conquer the world.

Dan Majang made this statement today in his office when speaking with African Drum after his return from official assignment in Dubai where he attended the GITEX exhibition by investors and innovators.

According to the commissioner, the event was meant for people across the world to show case the technology they were incubating adding that what his eyes saw in Dubai, his mouth could not say. “It’s like fast forwarding and brings the future to today.
“We saw innovations upon innovations, prototypes of things that were going to be launched in 2019 and 2020. We saw flying cars, we saw aero plane that would carry cargo. It will be launch in 2020 and what they are doing is to shorten the speed. For instance, a journey that would take Boeing 707 three hours would take the new aero plane just 10 minutes. We saw driverless cars, we saw driverless underground train.
“We saw holograms which you can programme the speeches of somebody who is already dead and then you programme it and you bring him back to life.

“People have conquered poverty, people have conquered lack of food, and people have conquered religion.

We have been left behind fighting over mundane issues. We are fighting over religion. We have been fighting over denominations. We are fighting ourselves while people in other climes are moving ahead to meet with God”.

Dan Majang stated that the National Information Technology Development centre sponsored start-ups from Nigeria to Dubai to show case what they have been doing stressing that what they did was amazing. He said a young Nigerian made drone that travels about 100km to transport blood to hospitals in rural areas where they are no access roads. The Commissioner added that another Nigerian made wireless power Bank that can just be put under furniture and that another lady from Lagos uses power bikes to transport people and has quite a number of them.

He however, lamented again that the unfortunate thing was lack of sponsorship from government.

On the Jethropher Plant that was said to have been discovered in Northern parts of Plateau State which was also said could be an alternative to oil, Dan Majang said it was being incubated at the incubation centre in Jos. However, he said the plant was for third world nations because since cars are electrically driven now, nobody is talking about oil anymore. Despite that, he said that other elements that can be extracted from the plant include, aviation fuel, organize manufacturing of soap.

He said that he state government gave a farm to a federal government agency, called Nigerian National Development Agency so they can be able to research more on the plant and that the ministry was concluding plans to give the agency an office to serve the North-Central zone.
