NIGERIA AVERTS FIFA
BAN AS NFF SCRIBE RE-INSTATED

The Department of State Security this morning re-instated
Mohammed Sanusi, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General – Secretary
under Amaju Pinnick to office in Abuja. African
Drum learnt from a source this was a Directive of the country’s government
adding that this singular decision may avert a ban by FIFA, the world football
governing body.
Nigeria risked a FIFA ban after sports minister Solomon
Dalung ordered that Amaju Pinnick step down, for Chris Giwa to take over as NFF
President following a Supreme Court ruling to that effect. However, we the
current development, the country is likely not to be sanctioned by FIFA
according to another source.

Addressing journalists in his office, Sanusi said “we thank
the federal government of Nigeria because what happened has stopped a FIFA ban
and saved the lives of many Nigerian youths.”
The NFF Chief Scribe
maintained Nigeria has to abide by FIFA rules and regulations which considers
as interference taking football matters to civil court. According to him, we voluntarily
accepted to join FIFA as an international organization are by so doing, we have
submitted ourselves to the FIFA statutes adding that whatever are going to do,
we have to do it in accordance with NFF, CAF and FIFA Statutes. This
development would also see the elections into NFF executive committee in
September, 2018.
