DANKWAMBO BECOMING NIGERIA’S PRESIDENT IS AN IMPOSSIBLE TASK - PDP CHIEFTAIN

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former strong supporter and associate of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo. of Gombe State, Auwal Abdullahi, Gafakan Akko, has said Dankwambo lacks the political pedigree and desired human relations to govern Nigeria.
Abdullahi said this when Journalists contacted him to confirm messages attributed to him calling on Nigerians not to support Dankwambo and concerning his support for former governor of Kaduna state, Ahmed Makarfi.
He said, "The issue of Dankwambo becoming the President of Nigeria is an impossible task, because he lacks the political and human relations capacity to govern and manage even a small state like Gombe, with just 11 local governments, so I wonder what makes him think he can govern a big country like Nigeria."
The PDP chieftain, who commended Dankwambo for his achievement in terms of physical and infrastructural development across the state, said politics goes beyond that as it requires good human relations and capacity building in all aspects, especially in maintaining good political relationship which he claimed that the Talban Gombe lacks.
The ex- associate of Dankwambo, who recently rejected political appointment as Special adviser, explained that Dankwambo, could not even manage and maintain a political structure he inherited in the state because of his poor human relations.
"Dankwambo has no political structure in the state and unfortunately he could not even manage the structure he inherited from the last administration, because he is not handling those close to him very well, in less than a year hundreds of people that worked for him with even their resources have left him to join the opposition APC or to pitch tent with other forces within the PDP, because of his poor human relations and political skills."
Citing examples he noted that currently, the 2015 DG of his campaign organization is not with him; one of his strongest campaign pillars that coordinated the "Talba house to house" campaign for him is not with him, and many of his closest associates and former PDP leaders that fought for his victory in 2015. He further noted. "It is a clear indication that he doesn't have the capacity of handling or managing those close to him."
The PDP chieftain asked rhetorically, "how can you trust such an individual with leadership position of a country like Nigeria, when he cannot manage a small political structure in a small state like Gombe? We are not going to support him.
"Even those that are together with him are not happy, they are just exercising patience, because they have nothing doing, they decided to remain with him to the end of this tenure. I am telling you before the 2019 election, majority of them will leave him." He added.
Gov Dankwambo
The Gafakan Akko said PDP, being the ruling party in the state supposes to attract other opposition members to the party but the case is the opposite in Gombe because the governor refused to carry the PDP leaders along noting, "with the current development, Talba would not even get the support of the party leadership in the state should he seek to contest for Presidency."
He then advised the Governor to bury his "death" presidential ambition and give support to a more credible politician that can give President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC a good fight come 2019.
Asked why he is supporting Makarfi, against candidates from his North east zone, he said Makarfi has excelled as a tested executive, a senior legislature and he recently demonstrated his intellectual, political experience and capacity by bringing a party that nearly went on extinction back to live.
"The only person now in the PDP that can compete comfortably with President Mohammadu Buhari, is Ahmed Makarki because he has the political capacity, capability and ability to lead the country taking into cognizance his achievements when he governed Kaduna state for 8 years, served as Senator for four years and also how he brought unity to the party to the envy of even the ruling party. His leadership quality led to the returned of many prominent names back to the party. I strongly believe his aspiration to be president is to add value to our democracy." He said.
Reacting to the comments, the state commissioner of information, Umar Ahmed Suleiman, carpeted the Gafakan Akko, stating that he lacked the political experience to assessed Dankwambo politically, even to the extent of saying he lacks the political and human relations capacity to govern Nigeria.
The commissioner while describing, Dankwambo as one of the best governors with the best democratic credentials to rule Nigeria, further described the comments by Abdullahi as "irresponsible, baseless, reckless and needless."
He said Dankwambo as a true democrat, brought peace, love and infrastructural development to the state which include superlative road network across all nooks and crannies of the state and other laudable achievements.
The commissioner said the good works of Governor Dankwambo are largely responsible for all the endorsements he is getting across the country, saying it is exactly what happened during his electioneering in 2015 that saw him survived the APC tsunami.

"Different groups which resurrected from all nooks and crannies committed their resources without recourse to him. These groups relied on his achievements during his first tenure and he was able to survived Buhari tsunami.

"These are the things people across the country are seeing and are saying that if he could do all this in Gombe from lean resources as a governor, he would do even better if entrusted with Presidential powers. That is the reason for the series of endorsements across the country and we have the conviction that with his rich political credentials and high level of acceptability, we are heading for victory." He said.
