Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state is alleged to be secretly coordinating underground lobbying among his colleagues at the Nigeria Governor’s Forum for the sake of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar who recently joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). A reliable source informed African Drum that after Governor Bindow’s interaction with journalists at the villa following his audience with President Muhammadu Buhari, he rushed to Atiku’s residence and allegedly pleaded that he was just playing politics of survival. The source added that indeed, Bindow engages the tricky of rubbishing Atiku in the public but plays the good boy behind the scenes
.
Another source said Bindow only deceived the APC leadership with the aim of weakening the party before joining Atiku in the PDP. The source added that currently, most of Bindow’s appointees are card carrying members of the PDP and loyalists of Atiku including the former VP’s daughter, Dr Fatima Atiku who is the Commissioner of Health.
But in his reaction, Ahmad Sajoh, the Adamawa State Commissioner of information dismissed the allegation describing it as deliberate falsehood orchestrated by the Governor’s enemies to bring him down adding that Governor Bindow is a man of integrity who keeps to his promises.

In like manner, another reliable source informed this magazine that the ruling APC may have to prepare for a last minute shocker by some of its key political figures in the National Assembly including the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara following the exit of Atiku Abubakar from the APC.
Atiku is said to be the key player in the emergence of Saraki as Senate President and immediately he came on board, the first place of visit was Atiku’s residence in Abuja where Saraki is said to have pledged his loyalty to the former VP.
