Berom were being told to remain steadfast in service to God and humanity. They were also urged to obey and pray for constituted authority at all levels. Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, Da Jacob Gyang Buba made the declaration at a special Church service to ursher in Nzem Berom for year 2022.
A statement by the Media and Publicity Committee, Nzem Berom 2022 stated that the worship which was conducted in Berom dialect preceded that of Muslim members of the ethnic group who last Friday held a jumma'at prayer for the same purpose at the Main Mosque Bukuru.

According to the statement, the Gbong Gwom Jos who had the full compliments of members of the Berom traditional council said his people must sustain the command structure of God; give respect to whom respect is due. Da Buba said though a cultural activity, seeking the face of God guarantees success in human endeavors.
The statement added that the guest preacher, Rev Dr Ezekiel Solomon focused his message on God's faithfulness. He said Berom people were blessed in all ramifications stressing that they must remained steadfast to enjoy Such honor.
It further stated that in a goodwill message, former COCIN President Dachollom Datiri said starting any activity in prayers is submitting and asking God to direct and take control, while Dachollom Jambol, Chairman Nzem Berom 2022 Central Planning Committee outlined activities for the cultural festival. There were special prayers for Nzem Berom, Berom land, Plateau State and country.
As stated earlier, Muslim members of the ethnic group were said to have had their jumma'at prayers last Friday with one held at Bukuru Central mosque.
Jibrin Gyang, one of the leaders of the Berom Muslim community in Plateau State was quoted to have said that there was respect for religious diversity among the Berom people.
