For failing to pay house rent, housewife seeks divorce.

A housewife, Sakina Lawal this
morning asked a Sharia Court sitting in Rigasa, Kaduna State North West Nigeria
to dissolve her three year marriage to her husband, Abubakar Abdullahi alleging
his inability to lived up to his responsibility.
According to
Sakina, some of the responsibilities Abubakar has been unable to meet include
payment of rent, lack of care and denial of sex.
She told the
court, “I can no longer stay in a loveless marriage. My husband has abandoned
me. He does not care about me. He has also denied me of sex. He should divorce
me if he is not ready to change".
In his defence,
Abdullahi said he has tried his best to satisfy his wife and prayed the court
to give him time to settle with her. After listening to both parties, the
judge, Mallam Dahiru Bamali adjourned until June 6, 2020 to enable couple
explored ways for an out of court settlement.
