Shamdung Jepla condemns Kulben massacre, commiserates with families of victims

Comrade Shamdung Ayuba Jepla has condemned the gruesome killings of 15 defenceless members of Kulben community in Kumbol District Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. Jepla who is the National Auditor of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), further prayed God to grant the Plateau State Government, the people of Plateau State in general and family members of the victims in particular the  fortitude to bear the great loss and reposed the souls of the victims.
In a statement on Saturday, a copy which is made available to African Drum, the unionist described as unfortunate as the incident happened when residents were celebrating the return of peace to the state and advised the perpetrators to remember the Day of Judgment.
“It is really surprising and unfortunate that at a time when we are celebrating the return of peace in the State then this sad development came in. For how long shall we continue to shed tears as a result of gruesome murder of innocent, defenseless people by the so called ‘unknown gunmen’? The government should sit up to its security responsibility, by securing and protecting lives and property of its citizens, “said Jepla
 He called on the Plateau State Government, to emulate the South West by also introducing a home bred security outfit to tackle our peculiar security challenge taking into cognizance the number of losses recorded over the year across almost every local government areas of the state.
