Those who say I'm holding brief for Lalong in the Senate don't know what they're saying, says Longjan.

The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Ignatius DantongLongjan has described as laughable the rumor making rounds that his being at the Senate was mainly to hold brief for the executive Governor of Plateau state, Rt. Hon. Simon BakoLalong.

Gov. Lalong, who is from the same senatorial zone with Longjan got the mandate of the people of the state in February general elections to pilot the affairs of the state for the next four years. However, rumours have it that Ajikamai born politician had been nursing the interest of taking a shot at the Senate seat. Consequently, it is said that the governor had a perfect understanding with Longjan for the latter to hold brief for him from 2019 to 2023.

However, responding to this allegation during a chat with some journalists in Jos on Wednesday, Sen. Longjan described the rumor as childish, petty and laughable. " Yes, I also heard of this story but is it that easy? What would eventually be the basis for that? Would it be that I am longer qualified  for the position or that my performance is below average and Lalong would performed better than I have done? Do you think it's that easy to take over from another person? When the time comes, we will know how to cross the river". He said.
