Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau state has been described as a humble person and a father to all. It is for these reasons that he said to have offered qualitative leadership in the last four years and instilled the spirit of trust and comfort among different ethnic nationalities and religious bodies in the state which also prompted the people to give him their mandate to pilot the affairs of the state for another four years.
This was the submission of Dr. Ado Abubakar Buba, the executive Chairman of Wase local government Council and Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in a chat with African Drum, today.
" I want to tell you that Plateau people are very smart. They know what they want and got it in Lalong. In my view, he is a very humble person. He is a father to all. Under his tenure, nationalities are comfortable; all religious bodies are comfortable because, he is a man of peace and as you already know, peace is the bedrock and foundation for development. If there is no peace, there can be no meaningful development and this man has stood his ground to ensure Plateau state remains peaceful ". The Surgeon turned politician observed that it is exactly what the People of Plateau saw in him and gave him the 2nd mandate. He further said that unlike previous leaders of the state, Governor Lalong has refused to abandon projects initiated by his predecessors in addition to the ones he has initiated even with meager resources.
Dr Ado added that with the caliber of people Lalong has appointed (Commissioners designate), to form his cabinet, the people of Plateau state can be rest assured the 2nd tenure would be more robust than his 1st tenure.
" You could see the zeal in them as they have already started going round, (even before being sworn-in) to assess the level of development in all sectors so that as soon as they are sworn in and assumed offices, they would continue from where their predecessors stopped", said the Chairman.
