The Flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the main opposition party in Plateau state, Senator Jeremiah Timbut Useni has intensified his election Compaign with tours of twelve Local government’ areas in the state. A statement from the PDP state Campaign Council stated that Useni’s effort was aimed at mobilizing party supporters and admirers toward total participation in the February 16th and March 2nd national election.
According to the statement which was signed by Hon. Abraham Yiljap of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Council, vibrant youth welcomed the PDP campaign train into Baap, headquarters of Qua'an Local Government and led the way to the palace of the Long Pan Nda Emmanuel Dabang to seek for royal blessings.
It stated that while addressing a huge gathering at the Campaign ground, Sen Useni who spoke through his Deputy Dr James Dalok thanked the people for turning out en-mass despite such a short notice and affirmed his commitment to actualizing the victory of those who contested and won the October 2018 local government but were denied their mandate by the current Lalong administration.
"We will do what is right by swearing them in instead of organizing another election. We are amazed at how some people can steal votes and swear in candidates in the night. This is not right at all"

The PDP candidate also reminded the people of Qua'an Pan of his readiness to ensure increased food production to combat hunger through his Agricultural Policy.
Party Stakeholders were said to have took turns to assure supporters and the campaign train of their readiness to defend the votes of the Party and avoid rigging.
North Central Chairman of the PDP and former chairman of Qua'an Pan LGA Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan is also said to have called on the people to come out in their numbers to ensure their votes count and are protected and also expressed dismay that the people of Qua'an Pan were made to believe that their roads would be reconstructed, but almost four years later, the road constructed by the Jang-led administration remains the only alternative road in the Local government.
The statement added that PDP state Chairman, Hon DT Sango wondered why Governor Lalong will not want to die for Plateau but will offer his life for Nigeria's President.  "This shows that their working relationship is not for the good of Plateau. So I call on the youth to stand firm to defend their destiny in this upcoming election" said Sango.
Presentation of candidates vying for various offices in the southern zone was said to be the high point of the event.
In Mikang, according to the statement,  it was a celebration of the PDP Governorship Candidate as the Long Tel, His Royal Highness, Barr. Donald Puntel thanked the PDP delegation for coming and prayed God to grant them success.
At the rally in Tunkus, party faithful and supporters were said to have received Sen Useni with resounding exclamation of "Baba Mai Tuwo".
Party elders Prof Paul Wai and Hajiya Ladi Nimlang among other stakeholders were also said to have reemphasized that Mikang has always been a PDP dominated Local Government and reminded the people that Mikang LGA was created under the watch of Sen JT Useni and therefore saw no reason why they should not vote him 100%. According to the statement, they particularly urged the women and youths to defy the odds that may characterize Election Day and peacefully vote but wait for their votes to be counted and announced before going away.
Responding,  Useni  was said to have thanked the people of Mikang for their solidarity for the PDP in recent elections and promised to ensure that unemployment and poverty become a thing of the past as soon as he assumes the office of Governor of Plateau.
