The Gamai Unity and Development Organization (GUDO) has passed a vote of confidence and endorsed Governor Simon Lalong for a second term in office as governor of Plateau State with a view to consolidating the place of Plateau State among the comity of progressive state in Nigeria and Muhammadu Buhari as president in the forth coming elections.

Addressing a press conference in Jos today, the National President of the organization Barr. Theodore Bala Maiyaki further called on other tribes in the state to come out en-mass to support and re-elect Lalong for second four-year tenure.

Gudo’s position was said to have been hinged on the empirical indicators that the administration of Governor Lalong had achieved describing it as overwhelming success in executing and completing so many projects of sustainable impact in the state which it said include among others, restoration of peace and security, policy of continuity and inclusiveness, completion of many projects abandoned by previous government, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and retirement benefits, numerous legacy protects around the state, potato value chain rated as the best in Africa, construction of township roads in the state, full accreditation of courses at the Plateau State University, Bokkos, man power development and other skills acquisition programmes. Other achievements by the Lalong led Government listed by GUDO include; upgrading of Traditional institutions, employment of over 3,000 teachers to improve the state’s educational resources base and upgrading and renovation of college of Arts Science and Remedial studies (CARST) Kurgwi, Quan Pan.

Consequently, the organization called out to other social-cultural organizations, friends of Gamai, ethno religious groups, the organized private sector, various interest groups, labour unions, students, organizations and groups, pressure groups, women and youth organizations to come out en-masse to equally support its endorsement of Gov. Lalong in his re-election bid so as to engender peaceful co-existence, co-operation and development of Plateau State.

The organization also implored its people to be law abiding during the forthcoming elections and called on independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a free and fair elections where every vote counts.
