We would adopt a scientific approach towards the General Elections – Plateau PDP

The
Plateau North Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Chris
Adukuchili Hassan has revealed that the party would adopt a scientific approach
towards the general elections scheduled for February 16 and March 2, 2019. Hassan
made this revelation on Thursday in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Areas,
Plateau State North Central Nigeria during the inauguration of the Northern
Senatorial District Campaign Council
The
Zonal Chairman stated that scientific approach to the elections became
necessary having discovered plans to rig the election. According to him, “we
don’t want a repeat of what happened during the October 10, 2018 Local
Government Election in the state when announcement of purported winners was
made while collation of result was still on-going.”

He
said that the Zonal campaign council was enlarged based on previous series of
meetings having taken into cognizance the peculiar nature of the zone. Hassan
called on members of the committees to be highly committed in performing their
duties.
Responding
on behalf of other members of the committees, Hon. Bitrus Kaze, Chairman, contact
and mobilization committee commended the Northern Zone Chairman and his Exco
for their efforts and for also finding them worthy to serve the party in their
various capacities. Kaze promised that they would work hard to deliver all the
candidates in the zone on the platform of the PDP.
There
were goodwill messages from Hon. Jonathan Dabo, Hon. Musa Bagos candidates for
the House of Representatives Bassa/Jos North, Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituencies
Respectively; all serving members in the Plateau State House of Assembly as
well as candidates among others.
Also speaking to journalists immediately after the event, Hon ID Gyang, member Representing Riyom/ Barkin Ladi Constituency in the House of Representatives, said that it was impossible for anybody to rig the 2019 general elections.
The
Zonal Campaign Council Comprises of 13 committees with each headed by a
Chairman with Bitrus Kaze, Da Francis Bot, Victor Kwon, Bar. T. Buba, Ngo Mary
Dusu, Joseph Chollom Jack, Hon. Ishaya Ikpiri, Prof. Thomas Shut, Hon. John
Akson, Hon. Davou Mang, Gyang Yusuf, Ngo Christy Nyam and Hon. Gyang Tsok as
Chairmen, contact and mobilization, Security and Intelligence, Finance, Election
Coordination, Traditional Rulers/Religious Leaders, Labour Union/Civil Service,
Protocol, Research, Documentation and Strategy, Elders, Media and Publicity,
Physically challenged, women mobilization and youth mobilization respectively.
