Plateau Governorship race: No Vacancy in Little Rayfield – PD Gyang

The Director-General (DG) Simon Lalong/ Sonni Tyoden campaign Council, Arc. PD Gyang has stated that Governor Lalong’s performance in the last three and half years has made it extremely difficult for any other candidate to beat him. Gyang make this statement on Friday in his welcome remarks during the official flag-off of the Plateau State Gubernatorial campaign at the Rwang Pam memorial stadium Jos.

The DG said it was on record that Governor Lalong has touched the lives of different categories of people in the state more than any other governor before him. According to him, these categories include; women, youth, the aged, the handicapped, civil servants, pensioners and so many others.

 In addition to these, Gyang said there was no Governor that was as mindful of the welfare and peace of the people of the state as Lalong has, stressing that it was the first time in the history of the state that Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were returned to their original abodes some few weeks ago. He added that it was also the first time in the history of Plateau State that an incumbent Governor would make it a matter of priority and completed the projects of his predecessor aside the ones he has initiated adding that it was for these reasons that the people of Plateau State have vowed to return Governor Lalong for second term and for this reason, he said there was no vacancy in little Rayfield, the seat of power in the state.

“Governor Lalong has touched the lives of different categories of people in the state more than any other Governor before him which includes; women, the youths, the aged, the handicapped, civil servants, pensioners and so many others. We have a governor who is so mindful of the welfare and peace of his people. It is the first time in the history of the state that IDPS have been returned to their ancestral homes. The Governor has also worked for the establishment of a mobile police barracks in Kurra falls, (Barkin Ladi, one of the troubled areas) to curtailed subsequent up reveals “in that area. Lalong has also accomplished projects initiated by his predecessor aside the ones he has initiated. We are supporting what he is doing. I am telling you this on good authority that the people of Plateau State have vowed to return Lalong for a second term, consequently, there is no vacancy in Rayfield,” he said.

Gyang further stated that the people of Plateau State were also not unmindful of the tremendous achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari within the same period and have also promised to give him their votes in the February 16 Presidential election to continue the good works.

He said that the campaign would be issue based urging all supporters of the Lalong project to be peaceful in all their undertakings during the campaign period.
