Four persons were said to have been killed yesterday evening
by unknown assailants. The incident occurred in a remote area of Rigum Community
Rukuba road.
According to a resident who wouldn’t want his name in print,
the incident occurred at about 7pm. “We started hearing gun shots at about 7pm
yesterday and it continued for quite some times before abating. Thereafter, we
members of the community mobilized ourselves and recovered four corpses in a
nearby bush”. He added that the corpses were deposited in a hospital mortuary at
about 11pm yesterday.
Another witness said that particular spot has been abode of
youths who engage in the sales and consumption of illicit drugs.
However, speaking to African
Drum, Anthony Kaze, and Jacob John, the Waziri Rigum and PRO, neighborhood
watch both accused the Fulani herdsmen for the dastardly act. According to
them, the Fulani have been threatening them after they were prevented from
grazing their cattle in the community.
