STATE APC CONGRESS: OCHEKPE SUFFERS DEFEAT FOR CHAIRMANSHIP

Information reaching us reveals that Mr.
Emmanuel Ochekpe has suffered defeat at the just concluded All Progress Congress
(APC) congress over the weekend. Ochekpe, who is said to be the husband of
Sarah, the embattled PDP former Minister Currently standing trial for
corruption charges involving the sum of N450million naira is said to have
accused the electoral committee of denying him nomination form to contest the
APC Chairmanship of Benue State and vowed to appeal what he called
maltreatment.
He alleged that he was told to collect his
nomination form by 10am on the day of the congress, which according to a
source, is a clear violation of the guidelines which stipulates that aspirants
must submit nomination form 24 hours before the congress.
Meanwhile, leaders of the APC in Benue have
accused the Ochekpes of double standards alleging that they are known agents of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Plateau State on errand to destabilize the
APC in Benue State.
Recall that Sarah Ochekpe, a staunch member
of the PDP, Raymond Dabo, former Chairman of the PDP Plateau State and Leo
Sunday Jitong are standing trial at the Federal High Court Jos in a matter
bordering on conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of N450million, an
offence that is contrary to the provision of section 18(1), Section 16(1), (d)
of the Money and Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2012 (as amended) and punishable
under Section 16(2) (b) of the same Act.
