2019: SARAKI,
OTHERS MAY DEFECT TO ANOTHER PARTY IN MAY.

The Presidency is said to be very
uncomfortable over alleged moves by the Senate President, BukolaSaraki to breed
a separate caucus of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Politicians with the
aim to defect to a secretly muted mega party latest May, this year.

gathered over the weekend that the plan was to be executed in concert with key
politicians from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This magazine further gathered that the
current development has shaken PresidentMuhammaduBuhari and also formed the
basis of his meeting with Saraki last week. It is said that Saraki’s meeting
with Buhari last week was the third in less than two months on the rumor, but
that on each occasion, Saraki had denied the allegation.
Another source said the presidency wouldn’t
have worried if Saraki alone was planning to leave the APC but his involvement
in a mega Party which according to the source, has the tendency of sweeping
almost the entire membership of the APC in the National Assembly and probably
take some state governors along.
As the 2019 general elections approach, the
battle has become more profound and intense with mutual suspicion becoming the
norm. Ahead of the elections, major political alignments and re-alignments are
expected to take place and political actors have started revealing where their
political interests lie.
