I WAS RAPED 5 TIMES BY MY UNCLE – MINOR

One Benita, 12 years old house help has alleged that her master sexually abused her. She said this to the police after she was arrested by men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police command at Mile 2 while fleeing home with her master’s two sons.

According to a source, the RRS operatives who were suspicious of the girl, interrogated her and she disclosed that her master, 36, raped her 5 times in less than seven months period she stayed in his house.

Benita, a primary school leaver from Imo state south East Nigeria was said to have been intercepted at about 10pm on Thursday last week after alighting from a commercial bus from Olodi – Apapa trying to board another bus to Maza maza. The RRS officials on sighting her with two children aged six and four years old, invited her for questioning.

She disclosed to the officers that she was heading to Maza maza to board a night bus to Imo state. Puzzled, the officers dug deeper and it was at that point that she disclosed to them that her uncle, who brought her to Lagos to continue her education while she assisted his wife domestically, had carnal knowledge of her 5 times.

The suspect, Ozuocha was subsequently lured to RRS headquarters in Alausa Ikeja Lagos through his telephone number provided by his six year old son.


Benita stated that any time her uncle wanted to sleep with her, he would come home early and lock his three children out of his one room self –contained apartment adding that she was not comfortable living in the house and further stressed that all the things the uncle promised her parents before leaving the village and those that he promised her before sleeping with her were yet to be fulfilled.

She further revealed that she had to tell her uncle’s six year old son, who asked her what his father did to her each time he lock the three of them out of the apartment. According to her, “I confessed to the boy what was happening. The boy in turn told her mother, who confronted me and I confirmed all that her husband had done to me. She threatened to pack out but they later resolved it after her husband promised it won’t happen again. I have been staying with the three children at home while they go about their business. He has refused to enrol me into school since July, 2017”.
