The letter entitled; "WITHDRAWAL FROM APC PLATEAU NORTHERN SENATORIAL ZONE PRIMARY ELECTION", reads; "I write to inform you that I have withdrawn from the APC Plateau Northern Senatorial District Primary Election. The decision was taken after a review of prevailing situation and extensive consultations with stakeholders".
When African Drum and other journalists sought to know how he would explained his decision to his ardent supporters, the former Federal Lawmaker stated that as hard and difficult the decision was, he strongly believed it was for their collective good. "It would not serve any useful purpose going to a race which final result has already been determined.
"It would be foolhardy, it would be wasteful in terms of energy and resources. So, I believe even if my decision is not understood now, in the course of time, it would become clear to all", Adeh said.
When sought further to know who he in his view was a credible choice among the remaining two aspirants, Adeh said, "Of the three of us contending for that seat, I happened to be the one with requisite experience relating to the job required.
"But you know, in all political situations, merit, oftentimes is secondary.
Hon. Adeh |
"So, I am not in a position to know or determined the next credible person as it were, but I know and for sure that I would have given Plateau Northern Senatorial Zone quality representation based on my experience and understanding the complex in the landscape".
For purpose of clarity, Hon. Adeh said his withdrawal from the race was not on the bases of consensus but based on circumstances beyond his control.
