The Plateau State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Chris Adukuchili Hassan has said that the victory of Hon. Musa Agah in the just concluded Bye-Election for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency seat marked a refreshing watershed, and a dramatic turning point in the fortunes of the PDP in the state even as the party marched towards reclaiming power from the ruling APC in 2023.
Addressing pressmen at the party Secretariat along Yakubu Gowon Way Jos immediately after INEC returned Agah the winner of the Bye-Election Sunday afternoon, the Chairman further stated thus; "with this victory, the PDP candidate, Rt.Hon. Musa Agah, has received the peoples mandate to proceed to Abuja to provide quality representation that PDP is known for, and which the People of Jos North/Bassa, and the entire people of Plateau State, have been yearning for.
"We commend the courage of the people to withstand the tyranny and misrule of the present government, and even in the face of intimidation and official political banditry, you have all risen to the occasion by proving that Peoples Power is beyond any individual wishful thinking".
He expressed the party's most sincere appreciation to the people of Plateau State for their steadfastness and support. Adukuchili also thanked leaders of party, the various Committees and Subcommittees as well as Party Agents at the Polling Units and Collation Centres for their personal sacrifices, vigilance and hard work.
Concerning Pankshin South by-election, the PDP Chairman said the party has received reports of how votes scored by the party were cancelled in its strongholds just to enable its opponent to win.
In this regard, the Chairman assured party faithful to considered the victory by APC in Pankshin South State Constituency pyrrhic victory noting that the PDP will take all legal steps to recover its mandate.
Consequently, he called on party members to remain peaceful and resist every act of provocation or intimidation.
