The Plateau State deputy Chairman
of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Amos Goyol Gombi has described Hon.
Timothy Golu as a big liar from the pit of hell. A medium credited a statement
to Golu yesterday that the former National Assembly member allegedly said that Hon.
Gombi has an intention to destroy the PDP and return to the ruling All
Progressive Congress (APC) amongst other allegations.
However, reacting to the
allegations this afternoon, Gombi said, "Anybody that believes Golu can
believe anything. Golu is a big liar from the pit of hell".
He added that it
is Golu who is close to the APC. "We know what happened, what Golu did and
what exactly happened between him and the APC during the 2019 elections".
Gombi further
stated that Golu has been rejected by the people and wondered why the former
House of Reps. member was in the habit of always blaming him for his
predicament.
"In the interview Golu granted, he said I
did not win my polling Unit during the 2019 election, which is not true. I won
both my polling unit and Ward for Golu being our candidate for the House of
Representatives in our constituency ( Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam).
“In the whole of
the zone, my ward gave him the highest number of votes. Unfortunately for him,
he was rejected by his people. There are 10 polling units in his ward (Ampang
East), he lost 3 polling units out of the 10. He cannot call himself a
politician.
“In his own
polling unit, he got 306 votes while Babayo of the APC got 169 votes but he
goes about blaming people for what happened to him. It's unfortunate",
Gombi said.
He advised
Hon. Golu to do an assessment of his character and tell himself the truth if
his behavior and conduct has been appropriate taking into cognizance the way
and manner he relates with others especially elders. "Golu should check
his behavior; he should check how he relates with elders. Golu has no respect
for elders, therefore, he shouldn't blame anybody for his woes", he said.
Specifically on
the allegation that he intended to destroy the PDP and dump it, Gombi said he
has never thought of leaving the party since he joined it. "I have never
thought of leaving the PDP since I came in.
“I left the APC
and returned to the PDP for good. Golu took me to court through Cpt. Bitrus Golen
after winning my election as deputy chairman claiming that I was not up to 18
months as at the time I contested but that is not true.
“Like I said earlier, I left the APC to the
PDP for good. So, I remain in the PDP and the man contesting again for the
deputy chairmanship of the party," Hon. Gombi said.
On the allegation
that he mobilized thugs to the party Secretariat instructing them to lynch
whoever that approaches the premises of the party, Gombi said that was another
lie orchestrated by Golu. "I was not around the party Secretariat
yesterday. I don't even know there were thugs at the party Secretariat
yesterday.
“It's not true. That
allegation is not in line with my character because I am a man of integrity.
All these are lies coming from Golu.
“I also learnt
that he said that he has changed the party EXCO in Kanke LGA but that is not
possible. For the avoidance of doubt, the election that ushered in the current
EXCO was held on September 27, 2017; therefore, a new election would only be
due on September 26, 2021.
“So, whatever
that might have happened in Kanke yesterday is a waste of time because the
constitution of the party is clear on the 4 year tenure of EXCO.
“So, to say that
an election was held in Kanke LGA yesterday is not true because it's not yet
time as the current EXCO still has a year plus to go", Hon. Amos Gombi
stated.
