Resolution of Plateau PDP feud: Elder Akson commends stakeholders, says party now sets to reclaim power from APC in 2023.

An elder statesman and one of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. John Abayi Akson has described the final peaceful resolution of the crisis which rocked the Plateau state chapter of the party as major step towards reclaiming power from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). Consequently, he commended stakeholders of the party both at the state and at the national levels for setting in place proper and adequate mechanism that eventually led to the peaceful resolution.

Speaking to African Drum recently, Hon. Akson said he was highly elated and delighted over the development adding that he has been eagerly expecting to see the PDP family in the state re - united. "As a father, you would always have sleepless nights when your family is disunited and your home in shambles. 
"We did all we could to bring an end to the crisis that engulfed our party in the state and we did that with high degree of commitment and sincerity and our efforts paid off with the final peaceful resolution last week. 
"So, I am a happy father. It is in this regard that I am extending my gratitude and appreciation to stakeholders of our great party both at the state and at the national for their immense contributions that led to the final peaceful resolution. 
"I also want to use this medium to call on all leaders and members of our party to be more committed, united and exhibit high degree of loyalty for the progress of the party. 
"I strongly believe that with this development, we are now prepare more than ever before to reclaim power from the APC come 2023", Hon. Akson said.
The Second Republic politician further said that with the current development, he was optimistic of a credible, free and fair Congresses that would produce competent leaders who would move the party to an enviable height.

Recall that the Plateau state chapter of the party was enmeshed in crisis that lingered on for several months leading to the voluntary resignation of the then state Chairman of the party, Hon. Damishi Sango. However, after series of meetings of stakeholders of the party, a peaceful and final resolution was achieved which saw the emergence of Hon. Yakubu G. Chocho, (the former state Organizing Secretary) as its new state Chairman. This development came just few weeks to the party Congresses scheduled for March, 2020.
