The Appeal Tribunal sitting in Jos on Thursday struck out the
appeal by Hon. Johnbull Shekarau of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
upholding the judgment of the trial tribunal and affirmed the election of Hon.
Komsol Alphonsus Longap of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as duly elected
member representing Quan' Pan, Shendam, Mikang Federal Constituency in the
National Assembly.
After the National Assembly election conducted by the Independent

winner. Aggrieved with the decision of INEC, Johnbull approached the tribunal
challenging its decision. The trial tribunal in its judgment on 10 October
2019, dismissed the petition for lacking in merit and affirmed the election of
Komsol. Still not satisfied with the decision of the tribunal, Shekarau headed
for Appeal. In the judgment delivered today by Justice Mudaseer Oniyangi, the
appeal was struck out and affirmed the trial tribunal judgment in returning
Hon. Komsol as duly elected member representing Quan' Pan, Shendam, Kanam
Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

is not only for me but for democracy and my constituents. You can see the
happiness on the faces of my constituents here. I most thank God for all He has
done for us from the beginning of this struggle up to this moment. "
He further thanked Governor Lalong for the support he gave him
while the trial lasted. " I want to thank our father and leader, his
Excellency, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong for standing by us throughout. He has
demonstrated he is a responsible father and a good leader. We would continue to
work and give him the needed support", said Komsol.
Hon. Komsol further described Hon. Shekarau as ' his younger
brother' and extended a hand of fellowship to him adding that he stood to
learned a lot from the experience of Hon. Shekarau. In the light of the above,
he called on him to join hands with him to work together
