The Director-General of Industrial Training Fund, Sir Joseph Ari KSM has said that President Muhammadu Buhari second tenure would be result oriented and would bring to the people of Nigeria the needed dividends of democracy. Ari made this statement in Jos during the book launched of Professor Cletus Taminu Gota at MEES Palace Rayfield on Thursday.
“You heard the speech of Mr. President yesterday. We were at the Eagle Square at Abuja when he said that every promise the party has made he would endeavour to fulfilled it. So, going to the next level may not be business as usual and we equally expect that we should all put our hands on deck to ensure success.

“But, I wish to say one thing. This is an opportunity this country should not miss because if we miss this remaining four years of Buhari Administration, we would have a long way to go as a nation and as a people. I therefore, call on all to give all the support and cooperation to the government.
“There is no gain saying the fact that this second and last term of President Buhari would be result oriented and will bring to the people, the needed dividends of democracy”, he said.

On June 12, Sir Joseph Ari noted that the day was a watershed in the history of Nigeria stressing that Jos in particular played a key role on June 12 because it was in Jos that MKO Abiola emerged as the Presidential candidate of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) that eventually won the election also adjudged by all to be the freest and fairest in the history of Nigeria.
“I would like to say without mincing words that June 12 is a watershed in the history of our great country and Jos particularly played a key role in that because it was here in Plateau State, the Tin City, the Home of Peace and Tourism that the candidacy of Chief MKO Abiola came to be. And not only that, the significant of Jos has always been there. For the first time in the history of this country, religious difference, tribal affiliations, ethnic differences, regional affiliations, were set aside. Those who even contested as candidates of the SDP as at that time came together to organise a common front to bring MKO Abiola and Babagana Kingibe not minding the fact that both were Moslems and the entire nation also accepted them.  That election is regarded as the freest and fairest election in the history of this country”, said Ari.

He said that Buhari has made a name for himself and his government on behalf of all democrats of this country by pronouncing June 12 as our Democracy Day. “Yes, MKO Abiola is dead and gone but his name lives on because the ideals and values which he represented are still alive. We are still moving and making steady progress. 20 years of democracy is still a nascent one. American has gone over 200 years and still learning the robes. So, as we move on, we are happy that we have been able to hold elections and were able to turn-in leaders. As we move embracing the value of democracy, I look forward to seeing a strong egalitarian Nigeria society under democratic dispensation”, concluded Sir Ari.
