The main opposition
party in Plateau state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed fears
that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state may be planning to
cause harm to its leaders and stakeholders. This was in response to a statement
by the state Campaign Council of the APC on Friday linking the PDP to an
alleged assassination attempt on one of its members, Joseph Chuwak Dalyop.
In response
to this allegation, the PDP Campaign Council in a statement signed by Abraham
Yiljap, Chairman, Media and Publicity
Committee stated that the Council viewed the accusation as wild, baseless,
empty, speculative, distractive and childish that does not even deserved any
dignified comment. The Council however, hoped that the APC was not planning to
cause harm to its leaders. Parts of the statement read:
“The Plateau
PDP State Campaign Council views the accusation as being so wild, so baseless, so
empty, so speculative, so distracting and so childish that it doesn't even
deserve any dignified comment.
We can only
but grant it a dismissive finality.
However, we
hope that APC is not planning to cause harm to party leaders, members and
stakeholders.
The APC we
all know will use every human misery to gain political capital - just like it
is doing with the Internally Displaced Persons' Camps...and the displaced
traders of the Jos Main Market!”
