The authority of Jos University Teaching Hospital has debunked the rumor making rounds that a corpse deposited at its old site situated along Murtala Mohammed way was tampered with.
The social media was awashed with a story that a corpse of a woman deposited with the hospital was discovered to have been tampered with when relations of the deceased came to collect her corpse today.

However, in a statement from the hospital and signed by Bridget Omeni for the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Edmond Bwanwat and a copy made available to African Drum, read in parts thus, “The attention of the management of Jos University Teaching Hospital was drawn to unfounded rumour alleging that a corpse deposited at the old site mortuary of the hospital was tampered with.
“This is to clarify that the rumour has no basis as the pathologists and security agencies have confirmed that there was no tampering with the corpse that was embalmed”.
