The main opposition party in Plateau State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved all its internal issues and its now more united, coherent and focused and also well set and positioned to take over power from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2019 general election.

This was revealed by Dr. Iyiorchia Ayu, Former Senate President and Member of a three man committee set up by the National Leadership of the party to look into some of the few problems that have engulfed the state chapter of the party.

Addressing journalists at the PDP Secretariat along Yakubu Gowon Way Jos immediately after the committee’s meeting with the leadership and stalwarts of the party in the state, Ayu said the committee was well received and given the needed cooperation and all pending issues were resolved.

According to him, “I am happy to say we have been received very well by the party leadership in Plateau led by Hon. Damishi Sango, Sen. J. T. Useni and Sen. Jonah Jang, Sen Nasiru Mantu and Fidelis Tapgun and other party leaders they gave us a lot of cooperation by responding to all our questions and everybody spoke their minds.

“We are happy to say that after series of meetings in Abuja and the one today in Jos, we have agreed to put every grievance behind us. All differences have been successfully resolved and the leaders have agreed to work together as one united PDP Family under the leadership of D.T. Sango who is the party Chairman. “He would be working with other leaders to deepen the reconciliation process down the line in all the senatorial districts, in all the 17 Local Government Areas and in every ward to make sure that PDP work as a united party which is going into the election to win.

“They have promised us together with all their supporters and that they will continue the dialogue and have mobilize the people to come out massively tomorrow and received our Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar who will be attending the presidential rally in Jos after that they will continue to go campaigning across the state to make sure that Plateau State is delivered to the PDP at all leaves”

Answering questions from journalists, Dr. Ayu assured that the reconciliation was genuine which has already been exhibited by the parties involved which was glaring during the Plateau State Campaign flag-off in Mangu on Tuesday. Ayu further identified two key issues that were resolved.

”One of the issues resolved was the issue of people who thought they were not carried along by the state chapter of the party has accepted that it will broaden the base and make sure that decision making is on the broad basis, it will make sure that everybody is taken along.

“The second issue we also resolved was that the former governor, Fidelis Tapgun who has earlier resigned as Chairman of elders’ forum has agreed to take back the position. Useni has also promised us that when he wins the election, it will be an all-inclusive Government. No part of the state on whatever criterion will be excluded. He also promised to consult very well and that he will run a government where everybody on the Plateau will be happy about” he said
