JUST IN: DADIN KOWA PILLARS IN FINALS
OF BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Pillars beat Plateau state Veterans Basket Ball Association (j-vets) 42-32
points this evening to reach the finals in the on-going One Nigeria Peace and
Unity Basket Ball Championship in Jos, the Plateau state capital. With this development,
Dadin Kowa Pillars would play the Pistons in the men category while Plateau
Rocks would slug it out with Unijos Female team in the women category in the
finals which come up tomorrow in the evening at the Rwang Pam Basket Ball court where the
event has been on- going since Monday.
Speaking to African Drum immediately after the game
this evening, one of the organizers of the tournament, Engr. Kene Ofodile, said
the finals would be preceded by free medical outreach adding that the
organizers paid a courtesy call on Governor Simon Bako Lalong yesterday.
According to Ofodile, the championship is an annual event organized by j-vets
and the essence is to enhance positive development of youths through sports and
has personalities like Most Reverend Benjamin Kwashi, Anglican Arch Bishop of
Jos Dioceses, Alhaji Bashiru Sati, the Plateau state Secretary of the All
Progressive Congress (APC) among others as patrons.
