Hon. Leonard Dilkon has told Justice David Mann of High Court 3 sitting
in Jos that he hated Evangelist Danjuma Fwenji of God’s Grace Divine Mission
(GGDM) because he has been sleeping with his wife (Joy). Dilkon who is PW9 in a divorce case filed by
his wife made this allegation while being cross examined by Counsel to
Evangelist Fwenji, (who is a party cited in the case) Tayo Otitoju Esq.
According to the former member representing Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam in
the House of Representatives, his hatred for the Evangelist however would never
have prompted him into doing anything that would pull him down, stressing that
it is the Evangelist’s attitude that he hates.
Responding to exhibit 8, which is a letter the former lawmaker wrote to
his Reverend, a Pastor in charge of Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN)
Auguldi, Jos South Plateau State, Nigeria, the former lawmaker reaffirmed the
contents which is a complain of the attitude of his father in law, Mr. Emmanuel
Gideon Daman, whom he claimed has been responsible for his wife’s gross
disrespect to him.
The former Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Finance, however denied
vehemently when it was put to him that his inability comply with God’s
instruction as recorded in Ephesians 5: 22 – 33 has prompted his wife to go to
Evangelist Danjuma Fwenji, emphasizing that all was going on perfectly well
with his wife, as he has been a responsible husband until Fwenji decided to
break his home.

Ephesians 5:22-33 New International Version (NIV)
states:
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to
the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the
church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the
church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in
everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church
and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing
her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to
present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any
other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way,
husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife
loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body,
but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for
we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will
leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become
one flesh.” 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking
about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also
must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

The former lawmaker further said that he was not aware his wife was
afflicted by an ailment that defied conventional medical solution until she
went to Danjuma Fwenji.
Barr. Otitoju further sought to tender a document deposed to by Hon.
Dilkon on 31st December, 2014
when he sued Danjuma Fwenji, Danjuma Musa, Jos, Dilkon Emmanuel Gideon
Daman and Mrs. Judith Damulak in another case in the same court with file No.
PLD/J215/2013, but Counsel to Dilkon Barr. Francis Okafor urged the court to
reject the document for reasons that the document was not pleaded for by any
party in the matter and secondly, that it was too elementary at this turn of
the century to allow a document to be thrown to the court without proper
certification; an argument Justice Mann upheld.
However, the motion seeking to amend paragraph 7 of party cited
statement on oath was not objected by Counsel to the petitioner. Barr. J. L. Osoroh.
Okafor also declined objection but only on the condition that there
would be no oral application for another amendment. Consequently the motion was
tendered and accepted by the court.
The case was further adjourned to 19th of this month.
Recall that Mrs. Joy Nanlhi Dilkon petitioned the court in 2014 for a
decree of dissolution of marriage against her husband (respondent) on the
ground that the marriage has broken down irretrievably.
In his response and cross petition, Hon. Dilkon is seeking the
following reliefs.
An order dismissing the petition, a decree of dissolution of marriage
between the Petitioner and the Respondent on the ground that for the past seven
years, the Petitioner has behaved in such a way that the Respondent cannot
reasonably expect to live with her because she has been committing adultery
with one Evangelist Danjuma Goshwe Fwenji
