Hearing in the petition of Ubandoma Joshua Laven and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) against Kwarnim Nanloh Amos of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission for the chairmanship of Langtang North Local Government Council has closed as the defendants open their defence in few days.

Judiciary Correspondent who was at the Plateau State Local Government Election Petition Tribunal sitting at West of Mines reports that a total of 38 witnesses testified during the hearing.
Testifying, the 38th witness who is also the 1st petitioner Laven Ubandoma in his statement on oath and answering questions under examination by his counsel, Harrison Uguala, told the tribunal that the 10th October 2018 Local Government Elections for Langtang North was declared inconclusive on 11/10/18 but was taken aback when he heard on air on the 16/10/18 PLASIEC declaring the results and returning Kwarnim Nanloh Amos as duly elected.

While tendering his letters of complaint to PLASIEC on the wrong  declaration of results, the witness prayed the tribunal to do justice in his petition and do the needful having scored the highest votes cast during the election.

Answering questions under cross examination by counsel to the first, second and third defendants, Zurfa Rimven, Eric Danboyi and Ledak Dafer in that order, Joshua Ubandoma while standing by his earlier submissions stated that due to the restriction of movement during the said election, he could not go round all the 114 Polling Units but was aware that election was not conducted in Miam Polling Unit of Pajat Ward.

On further Cross examination, the witness disclosed to the tribunal that he did not have summary of the result sheet by PLASIEC but the collated results from polling units.
While calling on the tribunal to use its wisdom to intervene, the petitioners closed their case and the matter was adjourned to Thursday 18th April 2019 for the defendants to open their defence.
