WOMAC 2018: TOWOF President reiterates the role of women in society.

The vision coordinator and president of Total Woman Foundation (TOWOF) Mrs. Felicia Kaneng Gyang has said that the success of every husband in his chosen career or assignment on earth depends to a large extent of the support of his wife. This according to her is in fulfilment of the biblical saying that it is not good for a man to be alone. Mrs Gyang made this statement today during the Women Arise Conference (WOMAC) 2018 in Jos. TOWOF president stated that the woman occupies a special position in the society because she is a special creation by God as loving and compassionate and has the tendency of bringing an end to social ills in our society.

She however said that many women are ignorant of their role in their society. “Today, many women are asleep; they feel that they have come to this world just to eat, drink; be somebody’s wife and produce children and that’s the end of it. Unfortunately, what we see in our society today is war, evil and wicked acts. We all are aware of cases of abductions, kidnapping, ritual killings, domestic violence and many other vices. We want women to know that they have a role to play to bring solution to these problems”. Mrs Gyang said that in the light of the above, the Women Arise conference was conceived.

Consequently, Mrs. Gyang said the conference which is hosted by TOWOF is a wake-up call to the church of Jesus Christ; it is a call to Christians in general but to women in particular at finding lasting solution to problems and bring peace to the world stressing that only God has a solution to the problems of this world and He has chosen the church as His agent through which He moves to enhance peace, stability, progress and development.

The activity according to her, is with the realization that women have a key role to play in finding a lasting solution to the problems confronting our world today and a platform has therefore, been created through WOMAC for women to receive sound teaching on topical issues to help the woman discover her place in God, in the home, in the church and in the society.

TOWOF is an inter-denominational Christian organisation that focuses on the holistic development of the women. The vision is to teach, train, equip and empower women to fulfill their God given mandate as daughters, wives, mothers, active members, helpers of destiny and agents of change.

She said WOMAC is one of the main TOWOF activities. Other activities include; Prison visitations, hospital visitations, visitations to IDPs Camp and village outreach which sees the foundation going round all the local government areas in Plateau state with the gospel.
TOWOF also runs a television programme known as “Total Woman” on NTA every Monday. In this programme, issues that affect the economic and social life of a woman as well as her spiritual growth are discussed. It is a holistic ministry because it touches every aspect of the life of a woman.
