Hon. Lumumba Dah Adeh a Northern zone Senatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC inaugurated his campaign directorate and coordinators across the six local governments that make up the zone on Tuesday with a charge to members to put-in their best to ensure victory at the primary and secondary elections.

He said that members of the team should consider their engagement as partners who had stakes in the project stressing that their appointments could be likened to share certificates and evidence of their contribution to the project and urged them to be highly committed to ensure success so they can all benefit from its outcome.

Responding, Director-General of the campaign organisation, Hon. Simon Madaki acknowledged that the job was not an easy one taking into cojnizance the nature of the zone adding for this reason. It was imperative for members of the organization to not only put-in their best but to make sacrifices in order to succeed.

There were goodwill messages from Hon. Chindo Gona Bassa Local Government chairmanship candidate under the platform of the APC and Hon. Geoffery Teme, APC House of Assembly aspirant, Rukuba/ Irigwe constituency.

Others were, John Gyang from Riyom who spoke on behalf of the youth, Larai Monday Bassa who spoke on behalf of Women and Rabiu Ahmed balarabe, Jos North who spoke on behalf of elders. 

Speaking to journalists immediately after the inauguration, Adeh said though the people of Plateau state do not have a written agreement regarding zoning, he however said that there were conventions and understanding stressing that such understanding for exanple has made it known to everybody that after Lalong 8 years, the next Governor will come from Central Zone. “In similar vein were trying to entrench such an understanding within the zone in a manner that the position of the Senate would be shared among the different ethnic nationalities within the zone”. He said.

On the complexity of the zone taking into account its ethnic and religious plurality which has always been an albatross to electoral process and how he intends to overcome it, the aspirant said that It was a matter of awareness. “Let us understand that there is a need for fairness taking into account the interests of different nationalities within the zone. It’s not a matter of struggle, it’s not a matter of fight its just to prevail on the conscience of the people by conscientizing them well enough to know that everybody demands a sense of belonging. That’s on the part of sentimental consideration. But beyond that, we should be desirous of qualitative representation. We have to look at the quality of people presenting themselves to represent us. What they can bring to the table to the benefit of the constituents”. Said Adeh

He appealed to delegates to give him their votes during party primary election which is few days away because he stands out among other contenders as a result of his vast experience in both the legislative and executive matters.

“Hon. Lumumba Dah Adeh stands out because of the vast experience I have in legislative matters having been a member of the House of Representatives. I was also a Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters. My experience goes beyond the legislative as it crosses to the executive and I understand the workings of Government and I also have the network in a manner that it will benefit the people of Plateau North Senatorial District. Moreover, I standout in ranking among my co-contenders and if I go to the senate, I will be a ranking senator.
