avoid imposition of candidates
By Pam Moses
A veteran
Journalist and Aspirant for the House of Assembly Kachia Constituency Kaduna
State, Mr. Mordecai Sunday Ibrahim, has tasked the Peoples Democratic Party PDP
not to allowed imposition of candidates during the forth coming Primaries of
the party.
Ibrahim who
is the Publisher of the New Impression Magazine stated this yesterday when he
visited the Kachia LGA PDP officials and 12 ward chairmen of the party to officially
declare his intention.
According to
him, if delegates didn't get it right during the party primary elections, it
would spell doom for our party.
"We
must be the ones to decide who should be our representatives and we should not
allow any godfather to decide for us who our representative should be".
"A
candidate sponsored by a godfather will never work for the interest of the
generality of the people of Kachia Constituency because his only and consuming
concern shall be to work for the interest of his god father"
He stated
that he joined the race purely out of conviction with sincere heart and desire
for service to humanity.
"I
present myself to the people of Kachia Constituency as a credible alternative to
be elected as your member because I was moved to join this race for the State
Assembly out of my burning desire for an inclusive Consultative and proactive
representation".
He said the
Kaduna state House of Assembly required business-like Representation as it takes
only a member with a business mind-set to be able to lobby and bring to the
people the desired dividends of democracy.
Ibrahim
further pledged to ensure that he contribute effectively and efficiently in all
the processes of law making, oversight functions and all other expectations of
the Kachia electorates.
Vice
Chairman of the PDP, Kachia Local Government, Hon. Monday kajere commended the
effort of the aspirant and his steadfastness to the party and pledged that the
party will ensure that only credible candidates emerge during the primaries
based on the wishes and aspirations of the delegates.
