Breaking News: Dr. Godfrey Bawa is NAPSS
‘Man of the Year’ and its Choice for 2019 Guber Race.

The
National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS), the Students umbrella
body in Plateau has declared its total support for the candidature of Dr.
Godfrey Bawa Shitgurun, the Plateau State gubernatorial aspirant under the
platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This
was revealed today in Jos by Comrade Dacholom Dangbaran Davou, NAPSS President
on the occasion of the conferment of the Man of the Year Award on Dr. Bawa. The
NAPSS President state that the students’ body has observed and followed with
keen interest Dr. Bawa’s giant and developmental strides in the areas of
capacity building and promotion of peace, unity, youth empowerment and
community development among others. Consequently, the association decided to
honor him so as to ginger him into doing more for the society.
NAPSS
also believed that Plateau State stands to have immense benefits if Dr. Bawa
eventually emerged as the chief executive of the State taking into cognizance
his pedigree and previous performance.
According
to NAPSS President, we are here not just to re-affirm our support but to
support a course for a positive change on the Plateau and for the people of
Plateau State comes 2019 because we have noticed there is need for a positive
change”. He also believed that you don’t just chant the drum of change vocally
without taking some practical steps. “So, we are here to re-affirm our total
support to his efforts aimed at rebuilding Plateau State and restore its lost glory.
The award is meant to spur him to doing more.”
Responding,
Dr. Bawa expressed delight for the honor saying that it was his nature to serve
humanity and that he does that not expecting any reward or to be applauded by
anybody. He said the award will definitely spur him into doing more adding that it was
surprising that the little contributions he made to the society unpublicized
were somehow still noticed by the society.
Bawa
said he considered the award special because it was coming from the youths,
more so, students who are leaders of tomorrow.
