Dame Pauline Tallen has been described as a strong character worthy of emulation by the women folk.

This was the submission of the President of Voice Out Vanguard (VOV) and founder of Stella Whyte Foundation, Okhuelegbe Ebosetale during the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Mrs Tallen as VOV female ICON of the year

VOV is a non-Governmental, non-political Organization which objectives is to see that violence free and credible elections that would usher in credible people and in turn yield good governance be the ultimate thing for consideration by the electorates, launched its “Vote Right” campaign initiative over the weekend at Hill Station Hotel Jos.

According to Ebosetale, Mrs. Tallen, is a woman of noble character, strength (both physical and moral) who is also firm and decisive.

“Mrs. Tallen displays the moral strength of a woman because she always stand firm and makes sure nothing dissuades her from doing what is right. She is a woman and a mother than can be trusted. She has the niche of touching the lives of people across the country positively irrespective of their backgrounds. She is diligent with personal sense of responsibility. Many people look up to her. To me, she is my mentor. These and many more formed the basis and eventually earned her this award.” She said.

Receiving the award on behalf of Tallen, Shabul Mazadu, her media consultant appreciated the organizers for taking notice of Tallen’s contributions saying that the award would definitely spur her into doing more. He however stated that it was in the nature of Dame Tallen to reach out and touch people's lives positively, consequently, she never do it with the aim of drawing the attention of the public. Mazadu further stated that VOV’s philosophy was in line with Tallen’s who he said is an ardent advocate of free, credible and transparent elections which  is the only panacea to good governance. "Her Excellency has been an advocate of peaceful elections because she doesn't subscribes to violence.
She believes that President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to see to the conduct of peaceful atmosphere and credible elections where every vote must counts. She is calling on all youths to shun all forms of violence.”

To this end, he said Tallen sends her total support as the organization embarks on its campaign of enlightenment and awareness on how to vote, why to vote and who to vote even as we approach the 2019 general elections. On the refusal by President Buhari to give assent to the amended Electoral Bill, the Media consultant said Dame Pauline strongly commended Mr. President for exercising his constitutional responsibility in an appropriate manner for the sake of our nation.

"Since the coming on board of President, Muhammadu Buhari, he had been very careful and discreet in handling affairs of the country.  He doesn't want to cause confusion that will compound problems, because he has met enough of those confusion and problems on ground. He is trying to resolves these confusion and problems at all cost.
"Therefore, Dame Pauline feels it’s too late for the electronic voting to be introduced because going by the past elections in Nigeria, very soon INEC will start recruitment just few weeks to the elections.
“So imagine, when they would buy the machines, install them and test-run the machines to ensure their effectiveness? Even those people that would mann the machines; when will they be trained to put them into practice and ensure that there will be no flaws? One will just say it will be too short for that to be done”.
He said those Nigerians that are trying to make mountain out of the President's refusal to assent to the electoral bill, should know that any confusion during the 2019 elections can plunge the country into serious crisis.

According to him, "We cannot tell the National Assembly to override or not to override the President as some People are saying, but they should know that if they (NASS), overrides him to go ahead and introduce the electronic voting, if it fails and there is a negative consequences, it will then not be the fault of the President rather, it should be their fault.
“If they (NASS) feel that they know more and make it to be a crash programme and once there are flaws, they will be the ones to bear the consequences.
"As far as she is concerned, Mr. President is trying to avoid anything that would distort electioneering and the electoral process as he has promised to conduct free, fair and credible elections." He said
