Hon. Zainab Dogo, former deputy majority leader and member representing Qu' an Pan South constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly has advised political office holders to consider their positions as a rare privilege to serve and not served. Speaking to African Drum in her residence in Jos recently, Dogo noted that some politicians usually forget that power is transient and behave in a manner as if they would remain in power for life. She added that such politicians carry out their activities and conduct themselves in a way and manner that is inconsiderate of the wishes of the majority of those who made possible for them to attain such positions. Zainab said such people when they leave office, find it difficult to reintegrate into the society.

The former law maker however added that though some people's admiration, love and friendship to a public office holders remain valid as long as one is in office stressing that the moment one is out of office, those that were hitherto around you, would vanished into thin air.
Dogo said life after office humbles you and reveals those who truly love you. In her own case in particular, she said, " now, I have time for myself, I have time for my family. I also used the time to reflect on the past," she said.

Hon Dogo is currently challenging the election of Hon. Abubakar Mohammed in the 9 March, 2019 election into the Qu' an Pan South state constituency at the tribunal said that if she succeeds at the tribunal, she would continue the empowerment of her people in the areas of education, economy and most importantly, in the area of agriculture. She said this was imperative because majority of her people are farmers yet, they have no access to modern farm implements. " So, intend to improve the capacity of farmers in my constituency through the provision of modern farm implements," said Dogo.
Describing the politics of Qu' an Pan, the politician noted with enthusiasm that the politics of Qu' an Pan is that of give and take because according to her, " we see ourselves as one. Anybody from Qu' an Pan, (whether from kwa or Pan), our ideology and principle is to see to the development of the entire local government. We don't look at political difference. We pursue only one goal which is to see to the progress and development of Qu' an Pan. To us, it is one goal. Qu' an Pan should move forward, Qu' an Pan should make progress", she said.
