DR. DAKWAK BAGS TWO AWARDS, DEDICATES
THEM TO LALONG, STAFF.

The
Chief Medical Director of Hospital Management Board, Dr. Dakwak Yamma Dajom,
FWACS, MBBS, has been conferred with two prestitions award, today by the
Northern or Achievers International magazine. The first award was for most
outstanding best performed Chief Medical Director in Nigeria 2017 and the
second is for most innovative top best run public organization in Nigeria 2017.

Presenting
the award on behalf of Arewa Media Publications Event Company, publisher of
Northern Achievers International Magazine, the Editor in Chief and Chief
Executive Officer of the outfit Prince Joshua Ola Adeleke said the magazine
distinguished Annual Excellence Recognition Award ceremony was an annual event
which is in its 5th edition. He said that the aware ceremony was
instituted to celebrate role models among Nigerians and over the last six years
have recognized the outstanding contributions of achievers people that
contributed immensely to the growth and development of the society.
Adeleke
stated that the award was also based on performance and Excellence by
individuals who have contributed immensely to nation building as well as to
motivate others to take up the challenges.
He
asked that the day’s gathering was to celebrate excellence and the outstanding
performance of a great achiever with a difference who is resourceful, focused
and a dynamic personality who reached excellent and laudable giant strides.
“Indeed
today occasion of honoring Dr. Dakwak is a testimony of his starting leadership
quality and in recognition of his restless, selfless efforts and various endeavors
made by him towards the growth and development of his profession and society at
large”. Said Adeleke.
He
said deciding the winner of the awards was a tough task for the team that went
round the country to assess the performances of government agencies and
parastatals, stressing that the awards was based purely on merit because
according to him, “no body came through the back door to ask for the award”.
He
enumerated some of Dakwak’s achievement as and which earned him the awards to
include the completion of specialist Hospitals across the three Senatorial
districts of the state; purchase and distribution of five ambulance to general
Hospitals in Langtang, Shendam, Barkin Ladi and Mangu, the renovation and
completion of General Hospitals in Langtang South, Riyom, provision of oxygen
cylinders and beds to Cottage Hospitals; renovation and building of mortuaries
in cottage hospitals.
Other
achievements include, distribution of bed sheets; pillors, syringes, tables and
other hospital equipments in the theatres for easy surgery to General Hospitals,
repairs are purchase and distribution of generators to hospitals ion amongs
other achievements.
In
his response, Dr. Dakwak gave thanks to Almighty God for giving him the
opportunity to meet with the awardees. He dedicated the awards to Governor Simon Bako
Lalong for creating the enabling and conducive environment to operate and management and staff of the Board who have been up and doing despite the shortage of human resources. Dakwak
also appreciated the ministry of health for its support adding that there existed
a cordial and harmonious working relationship between the board and the
ministry. He further thanked his family members for their support and encouragement .
Dr.
Dakwak further expressed his gratitude to the awardees for finding not only him
but the entire management and staff of the board worthy for the awards
stressing that the success came as a result of collective efforts.
He
said that the award would definitely spur and ginger the board to greater
performance and enable him achieved his vision and mission for the board aimed
at seeing positive changes.
There
were goodwill messages from the Plateau State Commissioner of health who was
represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry Dr. Polycap Azurup, some
Directors in the board and the Plateau state chairman of the Nigeria Medical
Association. Dr. Ezra Dabted.
Dr.
Dakwak Dajom was born on 12th December 1960. He attended Ekan
Transferred School Jing between 1970 and 1975; Federal Government College Warri
1975 to 1980. He was admitted into the Faculty of Medicine at the University of
Jos and graduated in 1986. He also holds a Diploma certificate in Ophthalmology
from the West African College of Surgeons in Ghana, Certificate in Micro-
Surgery Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Certificate in maintenance of
Micro- Surgical equipment at the National Eye Centre, Kaduna. Dakwak started
his career with the Plateau State Government in 1988 when he was employed with
the Plateau State Hospital Management Board.
His
previous awards include, Fellow award by membership council of Institute of
Corporate Administration, Exemplary leadership Gold Award presented by National
Association of Polytechnic Students
(NAPS), Meritorius Award from COCIN LCC Dachi Kowa, Jos FDA, 2015, and Award of
Excellence from Polytechnic Students Mupun for the pursuit of Academic
Excellence and the development of Mupun Students.
His
hobbies include, playing football, travelling and reading.
Dr.
Dakwak is married with two children.
