EFCC: COURT ADJOURNS CASE

The case between Jonah David Jang, a serving Senator and
former Governor of Plateau State and one other person verses the Federal
Republic of Nigeria and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
came up at the High Court 5, Jos today.
When the case file was called, prosecution counsel, Rotimi
Jacobs (SAN) moved his application which was brought under Motion Exparte supported
by 9 paragraph affidavit dated 4th May, 2018 and filed same day and
urged his Lordship to grant leave of court for arraignment of the accused
persons. Prosecution counsel further apologized to the court for the inability
of the EFCC to produce the accused persons in court due to logistic reasons and
sought for an adjournment to enable them do just that.
Consequently, his Lordship Hon. Justice Longji granted the
application and adjourned the matter to Wednesday 16th May, 2018 for
the arraignment of the accused persons and for hearing of bail application.
Recall that Jang is being is being accused by the EFCC for
misappropriation of funds to the tune of N6.5
billion
