IGP COMMENDS LALONG’S PEACE EFFORTS.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris has commended Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State for making peace a cardinal objective of his administration. In a statement by the State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Hon. Yakubu Dati said the police boss stated this at ground-breaking for the establishment of the 66 Nigerian Police Mobile Squadron in Shendam and the formal presentation of Security vehicles to some agencies in Plateau State on Wednesday. The IGP Commended Lalong for donating the large expanse of land and enjoined others to emulate this gesture. He was further said to have appreciated the Plateau State Government for Equipping the State police Command with communication gadgets and also charged members of the Police Force to respect citizen’s rights.

The statement stated that earlier in his welcome address, Gov. Lalong paid glowing tribute to the IGP for his dedication and commitment to securing lives and property. The governor emphasized the need for intensified vigilante and community participation towards lasting peace and further thanked the police boss for bringing police close to the people. Said the statement.

The IGP is said to have performed the ground breaking ceremony which was preceded by the hoisting of the Nigerian Police Force flag in company of Gov. Lalong. The statement added that Highlight of the occasion was the commissioning of 51 security vehicles after which the IGP personally drove one of the vehicles in company of Gov. Lalong to the delight of all quests who gave them a standing ovation.
