EL-BUBA CLEARS AIR ON EDIFICE

The General Overseer of Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministry International (EBOMI) Prophet Isa El-Buba has debunked rumours making rounds that his gigantic edifice situated at Kashim Ibrahim Jos was build with funds belonging to Plateau State. Speaking to journalists in Jos yesterday, special adviser to El-Buba, on politics, Good Governance and Foreign Affairs, who is also the Director of Programmes, Ebomi, Pastor Chidiebere Harry Ogbamgba said the finances of the ministry come from every single member and its global partners from different parts of the world.

He said it has been alleged that the edifice was built with funds belonging to Plateau State during the immediate past administration under Jonah David Jang now a Senator of the Federal Republic. “I make bold to say that it is not true that this edifice was built with Plateau funds. In as much as we have the former number one citizen of this state in person of Senator Jonah David Jang as member of this ministry its not true that he channeled state funds for the building of this edifice. As a matter of fact, Jang has been a member of this ministry long before he become a governor and we would not ask him not to attend our meetings or to be part of the ministry again just because he has become a governor. The finances of this ministry come from every single member and our global partners from different parts of the world. So, that is a mere accusation based on ignorance, jealousy and hear say”, said pastor Chidiebere.

Oh another allegation that El-Buba recently resisted arrest from security agents, Pastor Chidiebere said, “As a body of Christ, as an institution and as God’s people, we do not only hate corruption, we abhor it and we would stand and speak against it.

A petition was once written to the EFCC informing the agency that the EBOMI edifice was built from proceeds of corruption. The EFCC came here and took a look at our books and found nothing incriminating. Last time, we had visitors from the DSS because prophet made a statement which they were not comfortable with, so they came here around 9pm wanting to pick him. We said no, he is not a criminal and has not been invited by the DSS or any other security agency and he refused to honour the invitation. We are also conversant with security situation in the country. Cases of kidnapping abounds. So even if you want to pick him, come in he day time. They pulled out. However, the following morning, we heard from several quarters that EFCC came to arrest the prophet but he resisted arrest. No EFFCC came here and the prophet did not resist arrest”.

According to the Pastor, the Ministry has not been found wanting in any way concerning corruption adding that if the ministry is corrupt, it wouldn’t have the boldness to confront issues of corruption bedeviling the country frontally because according to him, “as the saying goes, he that goes to equity does so with clean hands”.
